ABSTRACT

China is a country with vast territory, complex topography, and diverse climate and water systems. Water is the lifeblood for agriculture and lifeline for China’s national economy, and there is a close relationship between water resources and Chinese civilization. The Yellow and Yangtze River are well-known to every Chinese for their contribution in breeding and feeding the nation. Water-related issues have always been at the center of national governance.
