ABSTRACT

The main results of the study of glass melts interaction with aluminum oxide have been considered and generalized. It has been shown that aluminum oxide dissolves partially in sodium-borosilicate glass and by incorporating into the silicon-oxygen skeleton of glass it isomorphically replaces silicon cation, enhances the skeleton rigidity, and increases its strength.
