ABSTRACT

The structure of composites of the cBN-Al-ZrN system produced by high-pressure sintering has been studied using electron microscopy. Based on the analysis of morphological features of the composite components (products of the chemical interaction in the system), it has been shown that such an interaction can occur both in the presence of the liquid phase (crystallization from an Al melt) and in the direct contact of refractory components of the system.
