ABSTRACT

Dissociation of double hydrates with alcohol and electrolyte in the air at a pressure of 1 bar was experimentally studied. Powders of methane hydrate, double hydrate with isopropanol, and double hydrate with electrolyte (MgCl2) were produced in a reactor-crystallizer using forced liquid circulation. Double hydrate dissociation kinetics is compared with the behavior of methane hydrate.Double hydrates have high formation rates and lowdissociation rates. In the experimentswe observed a self-preservation mechanism for methane hydrate and for double hydrate with electrolyte, and also the absence of self-preservation for double hydrates with alcohol admixture.
