ABSTRACT

Acid-base interactions in the aminomethanesulfonic (N-alkylaminomethanesulfonic) acid–monoethanolamine–water (alkyl = methyl, 2-hydroxyethyl, tert-butyl, and benzyl) systems in the temperature range of 293–313 K were studied by pH, redox, and conductometric measurements. The ionic and molecular compositions of these solutions and formation constants of ion pairs and ion triples were calculated. Relative stability of the ionic associates was correlated with lipophilicity (log Pow) and strength (pKa) of the acids forming them. More... »
