ABSTRACT

Self-assembly among the Schiff base 2-[(2-dimethylaminoethylimino)methyl]-6-ethoxyphenol (HL) with ammonium thiocyanate and cadmium(II) acetate affords a dinuclear cadmium(II) complex [Cd2L2(NCS)2]. The complex was structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the complex was investigated. Both Cd atoms are best described as distorted pentagonal bipyramids. The crystal of the complex is triclinic: space group P, a = 11.3719(2), b = 11.7972(3), c = 15.0847(3)Å, α = 70.1520(10)°, β = 83.4690(10)°, γ = 62.2470(10)°, V = 1682.13(6) Å3, Z = 2. More... »
