ABSTRACT

The effect of high-temperature ion-beam nitriding on the structure and phase composition of a thermally sprayed coating prepared from a 06Kh19N9T austenitic steel wire deposited by the method of hypersonic sputtering is studied. An area with low chromium content is revealed at the boundary of the nitrided layer. It is concluded that chromium atoms diffuse into the nitrided layer from surface layers during ion-beam processing of a high-chromium steel coating, when the CrN nitride phase is formed. More... »
