ABSTRACT

Mutation di determining diabetes insipidus with a high level of water consumption is fixed in Brattleboro line of rats. We studied effect of mutant di gene replacement into the WAG line of rats under gene c (albino) action. Gene di and albino are inherited as recessive alleles. Alternative dominant alleles di+ and C represent normal copies of genes. Original parent pairs were composed of females of the WAG line with cdi+/c di+ genotype and males of the Brattleboro line with C di/C di genotype. The F2 generation split into four phenotypic classes. Investigation of individual water intake and litter sizes of F2 females at the moment of litter weaning revealed a high level of concordance with the coefficient correlation of 0.996. More... »
