ABSTRACT

The effect of chemically active and inert impurities upon the concentration limits of flame propagation of air-hydrogen mixtures at atmospheric pressure is studied. The effect of impurities as a function of their thermal properties and the mechanism of the action on combustion is discussed. Combustion inhibition is considered a clear sign of the versatility of the one-stage reaction model used as the basis of thermal combustion theory. More... »
