ABSTRACT

Electron microscopy and optical microscopy have been used to study polycrystalline (ceramic) and single-crystal oxygen-nonstoichiometric Ba2YCu3O7 − δ samples that were restored under various conditions after low-temperature decomposition into oxygen-depleted and oxygen-enriched phases. The decomposition was shown to result in irreversible changes in the 123 structure owing to the formation of defects in cation sublattices. To remove these imperfections, annealings at temperatures above 900°C, at which the grain recrystallization takes place, should be performed. More... »
