ABSTRACT

It was shown that positron annihilation spectroscopy is an effective technique for the determination of the size of nanodefects (vacancies, vacancy clusters); the free volumes of pores, cavities, and voids; and their concentration and chemical composition at the site of annihilation in some defect and porous systems. Experimental studies of nanodefects in porous silicon, proton-irradiated monolithic silicon and quartz single crystals, and quartz powders are briefly surveyed. More... »
