ABSTRACT

It was found that DAPS-25 in the presence of Saccharomyces cerevisiaе culture underwent a reduction, yielding acetophenone and elemental selenium. The latter appeared as selenium-containing spherical micro- and nanoparticles ranging from 50 to 400 nm in size. Under these conditions, sodium selenite was reduced with the formation of needle-shaped selenium particles up to 500 nm in length. The conversion speed of the formulation in contact with yeast culture fluid was independent of the nutrient medium content. More... »
