R-, G- and C-banded chromosomes from the Domestic Fowl (Gallus domesticus) are shown. A brief discussion concerning the origin of the banding patterns on chromosomes after different treatments is given. A surprising correspondence between the G-banded patterns of the largest chromosomes from different orders is revealed.
