ABSTRACT

Angiogenesis regulation in the retinaRichard Lang and colleagues identify a mechanism by which myeloid cells regulate the pattern of blood-vessel branching in the post-natal retina. They show that macrophages inhibit branching by secreting Wnt ligands that use a non-canonical pathway to induce secretion of the VEGF inhibitory receptor Flt1.
