ABSTRACT

Defective DNAs, isolated from mouse cells after infection with a clonally purified stock of defective polyoma virus, have been found to consist of nucleotide sequences from about 17% of the wild-type polyoma genome, tandemly repeated two to six times. These sequences come from the region of the viral DNA which contains the origin of DNA replication and the 5′ ends of early and late stable mRNAs. More... »
