ABSTRACTA STUDY has been made of the viscosity and the double refraction of flow of thymonucleic acid in water solution. The sodium salt of the acid was prepared according to the method of Hammarsten1, and by high-pressure filtration cleared of the remaining few particles of denatured protein2, so that the solution could be studied by optical methods.
