ABSTRACT

Experiments on the current driven by surface acoustic waves inone dimensional semiconductor channels are presented. Due toelectron confinement by the wave and the channel potentialsquantized electron transport is observed when one electron istransferred through the channel per surface acoustic wavecycle. The accuracy of current quantization achieved so far isdiscussed.
