ABSTRACTVroeg seksueel debuut brengt potentiële risico’s met zich mee, zoals onveilige en ongewenste seksuele ervaringen. Deze longitudinale studie onderzocht de gezamenlijke en relatieve rol van biopsychosociale factoren in de timing van seksueel debuut. Nederlandse adolescenten (n = 366) vulden drie keer vragenlijsten in (interval: één jaar). Voor de ancova’s en logistische regressieanalyses (apart uitgevoerd voor jongens en meisjes) zijn twee groepen gemaakt: debuut <16 en debuut ≥16. In lijn met het biopsychosociale model werden significante effecten gevonden voor zowel individuele als sociale factoren. Wanneer deze factoren tegelijkertijd werden onderzocht, bleek dat, zowel voormeisjes als voor jongens, leeftijdgenoten de meest belangrijke voorspellers waren van vroeg seksueel debuut.
