ABSTRACT

The reaction of 3,3′-diamino-N-methyldipropylamine with an adduct of nickel chloride with dimethoxyethane gave a binuclear bridged complex, bis(3,3′-diamino-N-methyldipropylamine)dichlorodi(μ -chloro)dinickel, in 40% yield. The structure of bis(3,3′-diamino-N-methyldipropylamine)dichlorodi(μ -chloro)dinickel was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The molecule is binuclear, with the nickel atoms linked by bridging chlorine atoms. The extent of distortion of the nickel coordination sphere is appreciably larger than in the related mononuclear complexes of nickel with 3,3′-diamino-N-methyldipropylamine. More... »
