ABSTRACT

The antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity of the silver-containing drug, which is zerovalent metallic silver nanoparticles stabilized by sulfated arabinogalactan, towards human lymphocytes were evaluated. The bacteriostatic concentration towards E. coli ATCC 25922, E. coli ESBL1224, S. aureus MRSA34R, S. aureus ATCC 29213, and P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and hospital strains E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and P. mirabilis ranges from 3 to 50 μg mL−1. Their bactericidal activity varies from 5 to 100 μg mL−1, and the concentration of the nanocomposite toxic to isolated human peripheral blood lymphocytes is 5 μg mL−1. More... »
