ABSTRACT3-Alkoxycarbonyl-substituted 3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-2-ones and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-quinoxalones were obtained via reactions of o-aminophenol, o-aminocresol, o-phenylenediamine, and N-phenyl-o-phenylenediamine with oxalacetic acid esters. The interaction of o-phenylenediamine with diaroylacetylenes yielded substituted 3-aryl-Z-2-phenacylidene-1,2-dihydroquinoxalines. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity. For compounds showed a weak bacteriostatic effect.
