ABSTRACT

The effect of substitution of iron atoms by atoms of alloying elements on the processes of crystallization of Nd9.5Fe84.5B6 and Nd9.5Fe84B6M0.5 alloys (M: Ti, Mo, Cu, Zr, Cr) obtained by rapid hardening from liquid state is analyzed. It is shown that rapid hardening followed by annealing yields a nanocrystalline structure in the studied alloys. The mean sizes of the nanocrystallites of phase Nd2Fe14B in the annealed condition as determined by analyzing the broadening of lines on diffractograms range from 30 ± 3 nm (in the Nd9.5Fe84B6M0.5 alloy) to 60 ± 6 nm (in the Nd9.5Fe84.5B6 alloy).
