ABSTRACT

A mathematical model of the process of film formation from a polymer solution is proposed. The rheological parameters of the model were determined by comparing theoretical curves and experimental data for chitosan solutions measured in their simple shear flow. Dimensionless similarity criteria were found for the rheological characteristics of the process. The effect of these criteria on the velocity, concentration, and width of the film in relation to the distance from the die exit is estimated. More... »
