ABSTRACT

Different heat-engineering systems are examined for making use of low-potential secondary energy resources (SER) to supply heat and cold to a metallurgical combine. The article also examines the use of steam-compression heat pumps operating on the return-main water of industrial heat and power plants to supply heat to a city. It demonstrates the energy efficiency of combining the positive characteristics of steam-compression heat pumps and absorption heat pumps to supply heat and cold to the combine and the city.
