ABSTRACT

The effect of radiation on the absorption of light by potassium–alumina–borate glasses with various concentrations of iron additions and various thicknesses was investigated. It was shown that in contrast to samples of small thickness (1 mm) a bleaching effect was observed in the samples with a thickness of 8 mm. A possible mechanism involving the formation of nanostructured units is proposed for the observed effect. More... »
