ABSTRACT

Based on analysis of the effect of modification parameters (bath liquor ratio, temperature, modifier concentration) on the physicomechanical and physicochemical properties of viscose rayon fibers, and also application of mathematical modeling to determine the equilibrium adsorption and the rate at which adsorption equilibrium is established when the fiber is soaked in an aqueous solution of flame retardant, we have determined the optimal modification parameters ensuring that a fire-resistant viscose rayon fiber is obtained while preserving its physicomechanical characteristics.
