AUTHORS ABSTRACTA recent model for the flow of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, formulated in spherical coordinates as a Dirichlet boundary-value problem for a nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation, reduces for flows with no azimuthal variations to a two-point boundary-value problem for a second-order ordinary differential equation.
