ABSTRACT

People with type 1 diabetes mellitus are at an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality. Studies comparing arterial stiffness between subjects with type 1 diabetes and nondiabetic controls have provided controversial findings.We investigated brachial–ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) in 87 teenagers with type 1 diabetes mellitus and in 21 matched healthy controls.
