ABSTRACT

Irreparable tears and defects of the labrum acetabulare can be the cause of persistent hip pain and progressive degeneration of the hip. The arthroscopic reconstruction of the labrum with an iliotibial tract autograft is a therapeutic option in selected patients. The early results of 37 patients after a minimum follow-up of 1 year and a significant increase of the mean modified Harris hip score from preoperative 62 to postoperative 85 are very promising.
