ABSTRACT

Attempts in recent years to detect gravitational radiation have led to the introduction of a new concept called Quantum Nondemolition Measurement. We apply this concept to the problem of demodulating optical signals and obtain a continuous time quantum mechanical filter. The advantage of our approach over previous approaches is that no optimization is necessary and we can construct the filter systematically. More... »
