ABSTRACT

Background: Lack of sufficient studies leads to controversial acceptance of the stapled anopexie (Longo’s procedure).Methods: This technique corrects the prolaps of the anal canal. Rationale: correction of the prolaps reduces the pathology of haemorrhoidal structures (2, 5).Results: Applying correct indication and technique an excellent result will be achieved in over 90% of patients. Pain is significantly less when compared to other methods of haemorrhoidectomy.Conclusions: Stapled anopexy represents a circular mucosectomy cranial of the haemorrhoidal structures and is not a stapled haemorrhoidectomy. Complication rate and late results are comparable to other procedures. Pain is significantly less. More... »
