ABSTRACT

We evaluate a lower bound for the strange-quark mass which, we believe, is the smallest one that can be obtained without drastically mistrusting the whole philosophy of the Shifman, Vainshtein and Zakharov approach to the vacuum-polarization-like function operator expansion and the available electron-positron data. The obtained value isms(−1(GeV)2)≥200 MeV.
