ABSTRACT

Transient glomerular hypercellularity in poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis was analysed by electron microscopy. Large numbers of monocytes as well as polymorphonuclear leukocytes were observed not only in the capillary lumen but also in the mesangial area. The result suggests that the disappearance of phagocytes from the glomeruli is one of the best histological explanations for the resolution of acute proliferative glomerulonephritis. More... »
