ABSTRACT

Micromorphological dimensions and inhibition of growth by antibiotics and acids were studied in a series of 165 pathogenic strains belonging to six species of the genusCandida. The strains were classified by computation, on the basis of variability of the diameters of the inhibition zones and of the micromorphological dimensions, using factor analysis. This method detected homogeneous groups of strains of one species. The results are compared with classification on the basis of physiological and biochemical characters. More... »
