ABSTRACT

The angular distribution of the photofission fragments of uranium and thorium has been measured at 6.61 MeV, by combining a new type of monochromatic γ-ray source with some new developments of the nuclear emulsion technique. Using the results of part I of this paper (1), values are given (in millibarns) for the isotropic, dipole and quadrupole absorption cross-sections in the photofission process. More... »
