ABSTRACT

Conversion coefficient measurements have been performed on several transitions in49V, from the49Ti(p, nγ)49V reaction. Negative parity has been established for the levels at 1022 keV (11/2), 1155 keV (9/2) and 2263 keV (probably 15/2) and for the level at 2354 keV. The first few levels of a rotational band based on the 3+/2, 748 keV state have been investigated. Positive parity has been established for the 1140 keV 5/2 state, for the 1602keV state, whose spin has been determined as 7/2, and for the 2178 keV state for which a 9/2 spin value is suggested.
