ABSTRACT

We discuss some general features of the absorption model or distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) for high-energy production processes. It is shown that for constant elastic diffraction peaks the model inherits the high-energy behaviour of the Born approximation and further that unitarity is still violated in general ass→∞. As an example, meson-exchange scattering is calculated and compared with experiment. More... »
