ABSTRACT

The results of the analysis of e+ e− production of 1− − resonances with masses up to 1.7 GeV are considered in the framework of the quark model. We show that the data on e+e− annihilation into both even and odd numbers of pions are not compatible with simple radial and orbital excitation assignement for the ρ(1450), ρ(1700) and the ω(1400), ω(1650) states. The selection rules for the decays of four-quark and hybrid vectors are discussed from this point of view, and it appears that taking either or states into consideration may resolve some of the puzzles observed in both the isovector and isoscalar sectors. The possibility of including the LASS state ρ(1300) in the suggested scheme of mixing is discussed. More... »
