ABSTRACT

The self-consistent method based on the inequivalent representations, which was developed for fermion fields in our previous paper, is now extended to boson fields. An application is also made to the Goldstone models. Our results seem to indicate that the Goldstone theorem does not always hold true in theories which make use of the self-consistent method.
