ABSTRACT

The reactions induced by high-energy proton-proton collisions are analysed in terms of a theoretical model, which incorporates exacts-channel unitarity. A unified description of the salient aspects of high-energy proton-proton interactions is obtained. Among those aspects we choose for more detailed analysis: the total cross-section, the multiplicity, the distribution of the number of the emitted particles, the elastic cross-sections and, with particular attention, the inclusive reactions p + p → π + anything and p + p → p + anything. A comparison with the experimental data is presented and the general agreement turns out to be satisfactory. More... »
