ABSTRACT

The energy dependence of the Heine-Abarenkov pseudopotential is investigated by calculating the thermopower of alkali metals. The effects of anisotropy are taken into account by evaluating the electronic free pathlk, Ek in the three principal symmetry directions of the crystal. The main trend of the results is in agreement with the experimental data except for Rb and Cs. For these elements probably thed-bands modify sensibly the pseudopotential. More... »
