ABSTRACT

Surgical PrinciplesThe removal of the intervertebral discs renders the scoliotic segment of the spine much less rigid. Through shortening of the convexity the lateral deviation will be corrected whereas the rotational component will be corrected with specially designed instruments through derotation in the horizontal plane.
