ABSTRACT

Commercial cholesterol of bovine brain and spinal cord origin has been care-fully examined for its 24- and 26-hydroxycholesterol content. By alternate adsorption chromatography and chromatography on Sephadex LH-20 26-hydroxycholesterol was isolated from this course in 15 μg/g amounts, whereas 24-hydroxycholesterol was not observed.
