ABSTRACT

Twenty-four tuber-bearing diploid (2n 24)Solanum species, embracing 5 taxonomic series, were hybridized with haploids (2n 24) of the common potato.Crossability of the haploids appears to be similar to the crossability of the cultivated diploid species.Most of the haploid-diploid species hybrids were vigorous plants.
