ABSTRACT

The immobilization of rats for 2 min with repetition after 3 min induces a significant increase in the secretion of thyroid hormones.This increase in secretion is abolished by the administration of the α-blocker prazosin 1 h before exposure.The acute stress induced by repeated immobilization increases the activity of the thyroid conversion of T4.
