ABSTRACT

In the present study effect of fluoride contamination of soil and litter by an aluminium factory on the organic matter content of soil is investigated. It was found that increase in fluoride content of litter and soil causes accumulation of organic matter content in the surface soil. It is suggested that the presence of fluoride in the litter and soil decreases the growth and activity of micro-organisms resulting in greater accumulation of organic matter in the soil. More... »
