ABSTRACT

A new Deuteromycete genus,Sterigmatomyces, is described. Differentiation from non-filamentous yeast-like organisms is based on the formation of conidia on sterigmata. Neither blastospores nor ballistospores are formed. Sexual reproduction has not been observed.S. halophilus sp.n. as the type species and a variety,S. halophilus sp.n. var.indicus var. n., are described.
