ABSTRACT

A multiple regression analysis has been carried out on average-quarterly and average-annual values of sky-coverage over 28 stations of the United States Weather Bureau Network. Computations were made to gain an indication of the nature and influence of some parameters which can be monitored on the ground and which might influence the formation of clouds. It is found that the average seasonal coverage of sky appears to be associated with local values of temperature, altitude and precipitable water vapour functions. More... »
