ABSTRACT

Muscimol and GABA applied microintophoretically onto nigral neurones reduce the discharge rate of most of these cells. Bicuculline reversibly antagonizes the action of muscimol. I.p. applied muscimol reduces the firing rate of about half of the nigral cells tested.
