Die Diuretica Furosemid und Etacrynsäure bewirken bei gesunden Versuchspersonen eineMagnesiurese und eine Calciurese. Triamteren löst ebenfalls eine Calciurese aus, führt aber andererseits zu einer Hemmung der renalen Magnesiumausscheidung. Dieser Befund stellt ein gravierendes Argument zugunsten der Annahme dar, daß ein tubulärer Sekretionsprozeß an der physiologischen Magnesiumausscheidung der menschlichen Niere beteiligt ist.
